Inundated roadways will be likely\n for coastal areas.\n \n - Locally heavy rain may produce isolated minor urban flooding.\n\n - Strong winds, with gusts over 35 mph are possible through\n Tuesday night.\n\n - Dangerous marine and beach conditions are expected through the\n middle of the week.\n\n&&\n\n.SHORT TERM...\n(Today through Tuesday)\nIssued at 407 AM EDT Mon Oct 26 2026\n\nThe recent 00z MFL sounding indicates that the lower levels of the \natmosphere have moistened up quite a bit over the past 24 hours. Low \nlevel relative humidity is up to 90% and precipitable water \ncontent has climbed up to 1.81 inches, within the 75 the \npercentile for this time of year. As a result of this increased \nmoisture, scattered showers have been peppering the Atlantic \ncoastline all evening, and this shower activity should continue \nthrough the morning and afternoon hours on Monday. Much of this \nactivity is courtesy of a mid-level low churning over northern \nCuba and the Bahamas, providing wide spread forcing and ascent \nacross the region. However, mid level water vapor imagery and the \nrecent upper air sounding are showing a deep layer of very dry air\nabove 500 mb. As a result, the dry and stable environment aloft \nhas kept most convection very weak and low topped. The threat of \nany heavy rainfall is looking less and less likely under these \nconditions. While several showers will train over the same area \nthroughout the day, strong north to northeast flow across all \nlayers of the atmosphere will keep rainfall moving at a pretty \nquick pace. Therefore, there is pretty high confidence that \nrainfall amounts will generally be under an inch. Perhaps a few \nlocalized areas near the coast can see 1 to 2 inches with a bit of\nhelp from the more unstable Gulf Stream waters. A similar story \nwill play out for Tuesday, with scattered to numerous showers \nmoving in from the Atlantic waters. Chances of precipitation will \nonce again be around 75% for the eastern metro areas, with \nactivity then dissipating as it moves west.\n\nWhile an area of surface troughing stretches across the northern \nCaribbean, a sprawling ridge of high pressure extending from the \nGulf and into the Appalachians will keep a tight pressure gradient \nacross the state of Florida. This will keep breezy to gusty winds \nacross much of the region for the next couple of days. With \nsustained winds of 20 to 28 mph and gusts up to 40 mph, you will \nfeel like a dog sticking it's head out the window of a moving car. A \nWind Advisory has been issued for the metro areas of Miami-Dade, \nBroward and Palm Beach, through Tuesday evening. Small tree branches \nmay be broken and loose objects may be blown about under these \nconditions. \n\nThere is medium to high confidence that tidal gauges will reach \nmajor flood stage over the next few high tide cycles across the \ncoastal Atlantic. This tidal flooding may also be exacerbated by \ncoastal showers and strong northeast winds, which could lead to \nsignificant water rises and inundation of property and roadways \nalong eastern metro areas. A Coastal Flood Warning is currently in \neffect for all Atlantic coastal areas through the net couple of \ndays. Remember to never drive, walk, or wade across flooded\nroadways.\n\n&&\n\n.LONG TERM...\n(Tuesday night through Sunday)\nIssued at 130 AM EDT Mon Oct 26 2026\n\nA stationary mid-level low trapped underneath this ridge block \npattern near the Bahamas is expected to finally eject further out \ninto the Atlantic by the Wednesday-Thursday time frame, along with \nan upper level ridge expected to rebuild back over the region from \nthe Southwestern Gulf and Caribbean. Additionally, several shortwave \ntroughs are expected to advect across the mountain west and towards \nthe central and eastern U.S., which will help to flatten the high \npressure currently in place and allow winds to become less breezy by \nThursday and Friday. Therefore, while scattered showers and \nthunderstorms are still expected each day through the end of the \nweek, the weather as a whole should be much less unsettled than it \ncurrently is right now. Low level wind flow would be expected to \nshift back to a NE/ENE direction and favor inland South Florida for \nthe highest rain chances. With the upper level ridge helping \nsuppress deep convection from Thursday and into the weekend, QPF \neach day is expected for less than one inch, which results in no \nconcerns currently for excessive rainfall through the period. High-\nend scenarios and clusters hint at potential for perhaps up to 2-4 \ninches of rain in a two day period, which further does not support \nevidence for flooding risk at this current time.\n\nAs a result of the information above, the concern to monitor into \nthe end of the week is the ongoing King Tide cycle contributing to \nexacerbation of flooding with any rainfall occurring. Given that \nsome level of showers and embedded storms are likely each day, the \nKing Tide cycles can exacerbate flooding in the vulnerable coastal \nlocations. While the peak tides will be during the beginning to \nmiddle of the week, moderate coastal flooding may persist through \nthe end of the week as we come out of this full moon phase.\n\nHigh temperatures will begin to rebound by a few degrees for the \nlong term period, with highs rising back to the mid 80s for \nSE Florida and upper 80s for SW Florida.\n\n&&\n\n.AVIATION...\n(18Z TAFS)\nIssued at 1235 PM EDT Mon Oct 26 2026\n\nVFR conditions expected across all South Florida terminals today\nand tomorrow, except for very brief periods of MVFR across our\neast coast terminals within briskly-moving showers. Gusty NNE \nwinds will prevail through the forecast period with peak gusts of \n25-35 kts.\n\n&&\n\n.MARINE...\nIssued at 213 AM EDT Mon Oct 26 2026\n\nHazardous marine conditions will continue through at least \nmidweek as strong northeasterly winds persist across the local \nwaters. Frequent gusts to gale force are expected from today through \nTuesday night across the Atlantic waters, where a Gale Warning is \ncurrently in effect. Small Craft Advisory conditions will continue \nacross the Gulf waters and Lake Okeechobee through at least \nWednesday. Seas are forecast to peak at 6 to 9 feet in the Gulf and \n10 to 14 feet across the Atlantic waters today. Scattered to \nnumerous showers and storms are also expected to develop across the \nAtlantic waters over the next several days, with heavy rainfall, \nlightning, and locally higher seas possible with any storm. \nHazardous seas and breezy conditions should gradually improve toward \nthe end of the week.\n\n&&\n\n.BEACHES...\nIssued at 213 AM EDT Mon Oct 26 2026\n\nA high risk of rip currents will persist along all \nAtlantic beaches through at least midweek. Dangerous surf heights of \n10 to 12 feet are possible across the Palm Beaches through at least \nTuesday and decreasing to around 8 feet on Wednesday. \n\nStrong onshore flow and elevated seas, combined with King Tides \nassociated with the full moon, will increase the threat of coastal \nflooding along the Atlantic coast. Major coastal flooding is \nexpected during periods of high tide across portions of the Atlantic \ncoast. A Coastal Flood Warning is in effect along the Atlantic coast \nfor Monday through Wednesday due to the potential for significant \ncoastal flooding. \n\n&&\n\n.PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...\nMiami 75 82 76 85 / 60 80 70 60 \nWest Kendall 74 84 75 86 / 50 70 60 60 \nOpa-Locka 74 82 75 85 / 60 80 70 60 \nHomestead 74 84 75 86 / 60 80 70 50 \nFort Lauderdale 74 81 75 83 / 60 80 80 70 \nN Ft Lauderdale 75 82 76 84 / 50 80 80 70 \nPembroke Pines 73 83 74 85 / 60 80 80 70 \nWest Palm Beach 74 82 75 84 / 40 80 80 80 \nBoca Raton 74 82 75 84 / 50 80 80 80 \nNaples 70 86 72 86 / 0 20 10 40 \n\n&&\n\n.MFL WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...\nFL...Wind Advisory until 8 PM EDT Tuesday for FLZ068-072-074-168-172-\n 173.\n\n High Rip Current Risk through Wednesday evening for FLZ168-172-\n 173.\n\n High Surf Advisory until 8 PM EDT Wednesday for FLZ168.\n\n Coastal Flood Warning until 8 PM EDT Wednesday for FLZ168-172-\n 173.\n\nAM...Small Craft Advisory until 8 PM EDT Wednesday for AMZ610.\n\n Gale Warning until 8 AM EDT Wednesday for AMZ630-650-651-670-671.\n\n Small Craft Advisory from 8 AM to 8 PM EDT Wednesday for AMZ630-\n 650-651-670-671.\n\nGM...Small Craft Advisory until 8 PM EDT Wednesday for GMZ656-657-676.\n\n&&\n\n$$\n\nSHORT TERM...NMP\nLONG TERM....Redman\nAVIATION...AD\n"
