I'm Nolan McDermott, a computer science and mathematics graduate who likes movies and baseball.

My interests sit at the intersection of coding, movies, sports, and exploration. I enjoy building tools that make complex information easier to understand, especially in baseball and sports analytics. Away from a screen, I am usually watching a movie, planning a trip, running, or spending time on the water.

This site—Noland—is primarily my home for movie reviews: a record of what I watch, what I notice, and what stays with me. It also holds project notes, screenplays, and progress on a few ambitious long-term goals. Expect film writing alongside reproducible code, maps, charts, and occasional dispatches from the road or water.
